Walkers, dogs prohibited on city ski trails

Duluth Parks and Recreation officials remind the public that hiking and dog-walking are prohibited on the city’s groomed cross-country ski trails. All city trails now are packed and tracked for skiers. Walkers are encouraged to use other places, such as the Lakewalk, which is cleared of snow on a regular basis.

Skiers are asked to observe the following trail etiquette:

* Ski in the indicated direction

* Leave pets at home

* Fill in holes and smooth track if you fall.

The City of Duluth has four cross country ski trails. These trails provide opportunities for every level of skier. Maps and brochures for each trail are available at the Duluth

Parks & Recreation Office at 411 West First Street, City Hall Ground Floor, or at

www.duluthmn.gov/parks. For information on the condition of City of Duluth trails, call the Ski Hot Line at (218)730-4321 or check the Parks Facebook page at DuluthParksMn. .
