Buck suffers fatal fall at Silver Cliff

Steve Rebelein forwarded the photo above, which he took Aug. 30 along Silver Cliff northeast of Two Harbors.

“I walk the Silver Cliff bike trail daily and found this buck just off the trail at the base of the trail,” Rebelein wrote. “The cliff rises 80 to 100 feet above where this buck was found. The only plausible explanation is that the buck fell off the cliff. I went back the next day to recover the nice eight-point rack. It still was partially covered in velvet.”
