A couple of interesting things emerged from this week’s reports from Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officers on Monday. At least a couple of officers reported hearing of timber wolves that seemed too bold about approaching domestic dogs. If you live in the woods, it might be a good idea to keep your dog pretty close to home.
The other item reported by multiple officers is that snowmobile trails are in need of new snow. Some have become icy in places, making travel less predictable. Anyone who has been riding is no doubt aware of that. If you’re headed out, be aware of that.
Although some areas along the North Shore received a big dump of snow a couple of weeks ago, most other areas of Northeastern Minnesota haven’t had a significant snowfall since right after Christmas. We could really use a good six-inches of fresh snow, not that I’m getting picky.
